The South Clackamas Farm Loop is a self-guided farm tour route that leads you to farm stops in the South Clackamas area. You’ll find things to do and see all year ’round. It’s the perfect outing for family and friends, right in Portland’s backyard.
In just a few minutes’ travel time from Portland, you can gather natural goodness from a farm, pet farm animals, taste hazelnuts and chocolates, sip fine wines produced from the region’s Jory soils, watch a rodeo or shop for western wear.
The community of family farms and value-added operations welcome you to join them for a taste, both literal and figurative, of what the Willamette Valley has to offer. The South Clackamas Farm Loop can connect you to local family farms and country business operators rooted in the rural community and committed to sharing their authentic experience with you.
Farms vary in their open season, depending on what they grow. It’s best to check their website, Facebook and/or call them before you visit.

Hopkins Demonstration Forest
Hopkins is a 140-acre parcel of forestland nestled in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains and is owned and operated by Forests Forever, Inc, a nonprofit 501c(3) organization. Our mission is to provide educational opportunities for students, teachers, and the community about how our forests are managed in Oregon while protecting the water resources we all use, and the clean air we all breathe.
Visitors to Hopkins will find over 5 miles of hiking trails they can use to explore and enjoy the forest. In addition to seeing many different ages of managed conifer forests, you will discover the Molalla Log House. Many believe the Molalla Log House is the oldest remaining log house in Oregon, built around 1799. Here you will find interpretive panels telling the history and some of the mysteries surrounding the log house.
You will also see the historical 65′ Clatskanie Mountain Fire Lookout Tower, which is open to the public every Saturday from 9:00am until 1:00pm May through September.
Hopkins is open daily throughout the year from 7:00am until dusk.
